2. General information
The protection of your personal data is important to us. We process personal data only to the extent necessary to provide a functional app and the features requested by you.
This Privacy Policy applies to the mobile application “OneSpeed”.
3. Nature and purpose of processing
“OneSpeed” is a reading app that allows user-selected text or files to be displayed word by word. Processing generally takes place only to the extent technically necessary for use of the app.
The app is designed to process content locally on the user’s device wherever possible.
4. Provision of the app and technical processing
When downloading and installing the app, data is processed independently by the respective app store, in particular Google Play. This may include, for example, username, email address, time of download, payment information and device-related identifiers.
We do not have full control over such data processing by the platform provider. In this respect, the privacy policies of the respective app store operator apply.
To the extent technically necessary information is processed during use of the app, such processing is carried out for the provision, stability and security of the app.
5. Data processed locally on the device
The app may store or process the following information locally on your device:
- selected or imported files,
- reading settings,
- reading progress,
- internal app settings,
- most recently used content.
This processing is carried out solely for providing the app functions requested by you.
6. User-imported content
The app may process user-selected content, in particular text files, EPUB files, PDF files or similar documents, to the extent necessary for the reading function.
Such content is generally processed only on your device unless expressly stated otherwise within the app.
Without your active action, we do not obtain knowledge of the contents of the files you import.
7. Contact
If you contact us by email, we process the data you provide, in particular your email address and the content of your message, solely for handling your request.
8. Legal bases of processing
Personal data is processed on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR insofar as processing is necessary to provide the app or the functions requested by you.
To the extent processing is necessary for technical stability, IT security or the handling of general inquiries, it is carried out on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the secure, stable and user-friendly provision of the app.
Where legal obligations exist, processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR.
9. Disclosure of data
Personal data is disclosed to third parties only where legally permitted or where you have given your consent.
Disclosure may occur in particular:
- to technical service providers where required for operation of the app or communication,
- to authorities or other public bodies where there is a legal obligation.
10. Storage period
We store personal data only for as long as necessary for the respective purposes.
Data stored locally on your device can generally be removed by you by deleting the app or the respective content.
Data from contact inquiries is stored only as long as necessary to process your request and any related follow-up, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
11. Your rights
Subject to the statutory requirements, you have the right:
- to obtain information about your personal data,
- to request rectification of inaccurate data,
- to request erasure,
- to request restriction of processing,
- to receive your data in a portable format,
- to object to processing,
- to withdraw consent with effect for the future.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
12. Data security
We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against loss, unauthorized access and misuse.
13. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to amend this Privacy Policy where necessary due to legal, technical or organizational changes.
